A Great Time of Rest

This break has been really good. Just what I needed.

Wednesday night I was able to go to the Thanksgiving Eve service at my church, and that is always so good to go to to help put things into perspective and to be reminded of what I should be thankful for. I also got to cook dinner that night which I love to do. I find such satisfaction in cooking, and I was grateful I was able to do so much of it since I have been home.

Thursday was Thanksgiving, and I was in charge of the green bean casserole.

I would say that it looks pretty perfect to me, and no- I am not biased. It was also delicious. Thanksgiving dinner was so good. I love being surrounded by family and good food. I also love when it is a little chilly outside for Thanksgiving- it just makes everything better.

Thursday night began Black Friday shopping. Zach kicked the night off with me, and we started at 8PM at Target. He had never been before, and it was most definitely an experience for him. We brought my computer and watched a movie while we waited and drank a Mocha Latte (Zach) and a Peppermint Mocha (Me). We also had the privilege of listening to a group of teeny boppers cuss for four hours. We did fine with the cold until the last hour and then it got a little brutal.

It was all worth it though because we were able to get my mom this beaut. We gave it to her early so she could use it for her Christmas program and Christmas party at work.

Then I met up with Claire, Brenna, and Emily at the mall and we conquered Forever 21, Macy's, Carson's, IHOP, and Old Navy. It was so fun and so great to be able to catch up with them. I am so blessed to have such great friends. I made it home at 6AM.

Friday I went to lunch with my parents and went back to Macy's to get a slow cooker that I should have gotten in the middle of the night but instead I questioned myself and lost the $10 deal. Then I made dinner for my mom and I, then we dragged in all the Christmas boxes, and then we set up the Christmas tree. So productive. Our home was so cozy and the candle we had going just topped it all off.

Today I got my hair cut-- finally!  Tonight I will dye it. Then I went to my grandma's again with Zach to help them take their Christmas decorations (all 62 things) out of the attic. Now we are getting ready to order in food for Zach's birthday because we all decided that would be better than going out, and I am going to attempt to get some homework done. Then it's back to school in the morning.

This break came at just the right time, and I am feeling refreshed and ready to go back and tackle the last two weeks and finals. I am blessed.
