Dad's Birthday.

Sometimes all we need is a trip home. That is definitely what I needed this week.
I was wrapped up in chaos. Quizzes, tests, clinical, interviews, friends, solitude, testimonies, meetings, blahhh!!! I needed to run away. So I did. =]  In honor of my father's birthday. He's 21. (Or at least wishes he was. I won't tell his real age)

I got home around 8 o clock last night. And by home I mean my grandma's house. My parents are staying here for a few days because our house is getting repainted and you could get high of the fumes in there. Dad and I stopped at Albanese Candy Factory before we got to grandma's- and he loved it of course. Endless amounts of candy. I could eat one piece of candy a day for the rest of my life from that store and there would still be leftovers. I ended up splurging on my dad. I bought him three different types of chocolates. Chocolate covered almonds, raisins, and my favorite-pretzel balls. When it's your birthday you can eat whatever you want.

I spent some time with my grandparents and parents last night and it was very nice. Then I went to bed early and woke up early (and by early I mean 10) to do homework. It's nice that going home can give you a sense of freedom to the point that doing homework isn't even that bad because you know you're home and not surrounded by the IWU stress. I got to see my newly painted house. -Wowza. It looks so different. But so nice. We went to Hog Wild for dinner. I was worried at first. It attracted quite a crowd, but my dad really wanted to go. Just the name of the restaurant makes me nervous. But my brother and I got BBQ pulled pork sandwiches and I liked it. Then we came back to my grandma's and played cards with everyone. Talk about a good time. If you want to laugh, play spoons or BS with your grandparents. There was yelling. Then we watched Despicable Me. I still love that movie.

Now I'm tired. And so is my dad. But I think I can speak for him and say that he had a nice birthday. We get to spend most of the day together tomorrow and then it is back to the WU. Time flies. But rest was had. I'm just grateful that I got to come home and sing happy birthday to John.

I love my dad.

  1. Glad it worked out for you to go home! But I missed you even though you told me not to!
